2018 was a big year for T-Mobile Workers

The biggest story of the year was the proposed T-Mobile/Sprint merger. We surveyed T-Mobile workers about the sale, and many said their top concern was job security. At a Senate hearing in July, CEO Legere admitted that “there’ll be a rationalization of jobs in the first year” after a merger.

In fact, CWA’s research revealed that a merger will result in the loss of 30,000 jobs. And this merger would combine two companies notorious for violating labor laws. So we’re calling on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to reject the merger as currently structured unless T-Mobile and Sprint executives make verifiable commitments to protect jobs in the US and respect our right to organize.

Nearly 700 T-Mobile workers have signed our petition so far, and we’ll deliver it to the FCC soon.

In 2018, we were inspired by all the T-Mobile workers who bravely stood up for good jobs and a fairer workplace.
